'Keep off the grass' - not much use on a football pitch.

What a waste of money...late, over-budget, and the roof doesn't even close.

I heard today they dont think its going to be ready for this years FA cup final how the hell did they think it would have possibly been ready for last years when they were saying it maybe.

The roof doesnt close? Someones bolocks should be on the chopping block for that one. I know someone who was supposed to over see the project who has donr it at other new stadia in the past and he jumped ship very early on when he saw the things that were going on.

never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups!

not a footy fan or anything, but that design is dull as dishwater, the old one was known worldwide, this is just another stadium with an arch on top. knock it down n start again!

The arch acts as a support for the roof. As you can see there are no unrestricted views because the roof is supported from above. It also looks pretty cool when lit up at night.

It does?!? That's news to me - have you got a link?

My point was that the roof wasn't designed to close (or so I thought) not that it was broken...just a shit design.

It doesn't close entirely, but then some of the games from Germany have proved that it's not the best idea anyway..

"The 50,000m² roof has retractable edges on the East, South and West sections to allow sun to reach all parts of the pitch. When necessary, the roof can be closed within 15mins to cover all seating for events."

they have said that it is the most techinally advanced stadium in the world but by the time its finished everything in it will need to be upgraded.
