    Default Water

Ever since I recieved a Brita water filter as a gift I've changed my opinoin of water.

Before it felt like something to drink, but to rarely enjoy due to it's temperature out the tap and the taste I've associated with it. As a young'un I lived out of a well (horrible parents feeding me fish heads, lol) the water was pretty crap, probably sounds nice and clean but when it goes brown you change your mind.

moved to uni, water was colder (up north!) but still tasted a bit crap. 8 pints a day seemed like a joke, probably had less than half and not every day.

moved again, water got worse. Hard or soft, never know what's best but I moved from one to another and both don't taste great and again, (obviously) always comes out warm.

Now I'm on the Brita diet I have cold, filtered, tasty (i.e. no taste!) water at my disposal 24/7. I often get my fill, if not more, of the daily 'recommended' amount of water. I can't get enough of it.

A pit of brita filtered water on regular use costs about 0.015p per pint. Compare that to your bottled that comes out of a tap somewhere else.

If you really want botteled water, buy one, then reuse it every day by refilling at home, takes all of 20 seconds, saves £1 a day and means you know what's in your water.

Or just don't drink any and suffer a wealth of health issues
    I'm new to this

Me, I get used to any water after a while with it.

As long as water is cold, its ok for me.

The brita filters took me a little time to get used to, but it filters out the junk, so why not.

We have a brita filter kettle, quite neat, I admit to drinking tap water "neat" though, I couldn't stand it filtered. Maybe I should try again then?

Ive seen those kettles and i must confess that i have been sorely tempted but then my mother in law bought us a kettle that has a blue LED in it and ive never looked back

When im at someones house and they dont have a Brita water filter then i do drink it "neat" and i can taste the difference. The filtered does take some getting used too but once your hooked you'll never look back!

Water where I lived in Preston came under the river and was freezing cold and clean tasting all year round. Now I live by the sea the Brita has made it drinkable for the past five years. Can't stand it though.

About 12 minutes for a full jug, maybe slightly longer.

my jug is a Marella XL, Takes the Maxtra filter. It costs around £25 from any decent online retailer and should come with a maxtra filter to get you started too.

Maxtra filters cost around £15 for 3/4 or so. They may seem expensive, but they state they last for a month. TBH I use mine for double that, as I belive their recommendation is not just based on a 'family' use (more filtering = more wearing down) but also it's bound to be in their interest to sell more! they Can't last forever as the filter ionises and it'll lose 'charge' so to speak as well as other filtering quantities.

Initial setup costs might not seem worth it, but to get water (which u need to drink all day every day) and have it free of chemicals, additives and all the other shitty tastes that some can find. Plus it keeps the water cold

Another filter to look at ( for those with no space in the fridge ) is the Breville Aqua Filter, it fits in the counter, holds more water, cools itself and looks pretty

Yeah, you do have to change the filter about once a month.

I've got a tap thats filtered by some thing under the sink, started drinking loads of water out of that, i think i changed the filter once in the last 5 years, so its safe to say that the filters doing nothing, and its my tastebuds that have just adapted to love the stuff

Tap water where I have been staying in London the past five days smelt sulphurous and disgusting. Thank the Lord for San Pellegrino which is my personal fave.
