Does anyone take them? Are they really worth taking? What's the difference between the big name brands and the budget brands?

I take them. Just Tescos own brand. Have no idea if they do owt, but they make me believe that I'm getting my RDA of vitamins which is supposedly a good thing.
Couple of quid every 180 days, can't really hurt. Can it.....?
If you can smell it, it's in your mouth.

Budget brands, such as Holland & Barrett use vitamins and minerals which aren't generally chemically available to your body and it finds it difficult to absorb the full nutrient value. They also usually contain the nutrients in less than meaningful amounts, making them a waste of money in my opinion.
A high quality multi-nutrient will have bio transformed nutrients which are more chemically available and you'll get higher absorption rates than the cheaper shit.
You should also look for nutrients in meaningful amounts otherwise you might as well be popping smarties.
Amongst the better brands to aim for are Higher Nature, Lamberts and Nature's Own.
I use seven seas multivitamins with cod liver oil cos I've already got joints that click badly, and it makes it easier taking them both in one go. Anyone know if these are any good?
If I had to recommend a multi-nutrient it would be either:
Advanced Optimum Nutrition Formula
or if you can pay the litte extra.......
True Food Supernutrition Plus
Both from Higher Nature
i take them... dun have a clue if theyt do anything.
how long have you been taking them for?
Have been taking supplements for about 25 years.
Through a process of trial & error have found the ones that work well with me. Currently taking vit C, B complex, iron & zinc.
Also have some Rabenhorst organic wheatgrass cocktail every day - can highly recommend this. Have a read of the sticky about green super foods.
Although CzarJunkie doesn't rate Holland & Barratts products, I do use their vit C and can recommend the liuid echinacea they sell (can't remember if its their own brand).
The wife used to have problems with cold sores. She now takes Lysine every day & has had 2 cold sores in the past 2 years, so they definitely work for her.
Quest are a good brand although the price does reflect this.
Avoid Sanatogen.
i'm currenty taking True Food Supernutrition Plus on CJ's advice. Taste\smell like fcuking shit
