game probs..not loading on chip xbox

Hi xbox chipped working well for 2 years no probs ,yesterday no games worked just freezes on start of game..turned off chip tried non copy same thing .could it be my cd/dvd samsung drive ,,,do i need to replace drive or just lens,looked on fleebay going for 15.00quid just for lens..or 40.00 to 60.00 quid for complete drive,which would be best bet.thanks...new to this all so pls be gentle p.s hard drive games work ..slayer works ..but no games..chip is xcu..2

Fleabay is 'ok' generally, but I prefer to pay a couple of quid extra if I need to for the reliability of a sound supplier, (baldbouncer has been around a long time) but each to there own, personal choice etc.

my xbox date is 11.12.02 us model,does it make a prob using in u.k i know it is samsung..been on site 3 dif typepls help thanks in advance
