TomTom GO 910 from Amazon - cheapest by a long shot and easy to use. It works (almost) straight from the box & gives loads of add-ons (like traffic info) if you want them.

Bring your passport if you're coming down-south or we won't let you in

I use my PDA for the sat nav, if I was going to have a dedicated unit just for sat nav I would also pick the TomTom GO.

The price is dropping now due to the TomTom 6 coming out so its a good time to buy. You could wait for the GO units to ship with TT6 but i bet they will have a nice high price tag.

Used to have an Ipaq with TT5 but it continually froze and complained about memory shortage - got fed-up with in the end .
