Humax 5400 help

Can anyone help my humi 5400. I plug it in and the display is all dashes. The press standby to switch on and the dots in the display just flash. Nothing happens.

Can anyone advise

if its patched box
just reload software and new chnl list that usualy sorts out probs

sounds like its had or got corrupt flash just re-patch it should be fine

Not saying this is your problem as it's been a while since i've owned a hummy but i seem to remember that when the Humax 5400 is stuck in standby like this it's a hardware fault not software, usualy power supply fault which is common among the 5400's (heat issues)...

To confirm if this is the case pop the top off and have a look to see if any of the resistors/caps look burnt out on the power supply (make sure u unplug it first )

There's a kit with all the relevant resistors/caps that need to be replaced to get it back up and running.
If you do a search in google for humax 5400 relkit you should find what u need..

Can anyone else confirm what i have suggested

lastest 7.5 and new module for tps 7.6b


it could be power pack but before doing that reload software.

And if you have probs getting it to start loading from stanby,just remove the power then start the download and re-pulg in the socket or use the rear power switch,this should then load ok. Had this a few times with one of mine,and also the power supply with the other,but managed to fix both myself ok.

With regards to the power supply I modded that just over a year ago.

I will firstly try the software patch upload and new channels and then give it a whirl.
