I heard there was no region coding for the consoles but can't remember the source. Chances are that on Sony's production roadmap they haven't got that far or maybe it will be down to the developers to lock the regions like the 360.

I hope they don't have any region codings at all, that'd be pretty useful.
I recon no region coding on games but region coding on DVD's / Blu-Ray
Yep, that's also what I remember hearing confirmed a number of times. Games are to be region free, movies region coded. Which for me, means, I would quite like a US one! As over half my dvds are region 1 and movies are usually out there first anyway. However, getting one from there before christmas will certainly be an impossibility.... unless I can con Rap into getting me one and sending it over
I think not though.....

sweetYou said at GDC this year that PS3 would be region-free. Still true?Yes, for games but not movies.

I'm new to this
I remember Sony saying that all Sony games will be region free, all other games are up to the developer!
And of course DVD films, etc will have region coding.
