ps3 regions

any idea what the country protection will be like on the ps3 ie will it be us/jap machines then seperate ones for europe or will t hey aall be the same?

I heard there was no region coding for the consoles but can't remember the source. Chances are that on Sony's production roadmap they haven't got that far or maybe it will be down to the developers to lock the regions like the 360.

yeah the machines dont have the region protection but the games can, no one is sure if they will force game producer to imply the restrictions yet, hopefully it wont be as confusing as the 360 situation.

Yep, that's also what I remember hearing confirmed a number of times. Games are to be region free, movies region coded. Which for me, means, I would quite like a US one! As over half my dvds are region 1 and movies are usually out there first anyway. However, getting one from there before christmas will certainly be an impossibility.... unless I can con Rap into getting me one and sending it over

I remember Sony saying that all Sony games will be region free, all other games are up to the developer!

And of course DVD films, etc will have region coding.
