    Question motorola v3x

hi just found this place i would like to ask about unlocking/debranding

in short i have just sent my phone to be unlocked @ a cost of £15
i asked about debranding /removal of the orange software and replacement
with motorola the place then wanted another £15 ontop to do that

i passed on that for now i thought £30 was abit over the top but i needed it unlocked cos i can't get an orange signal where i live so i have told them to unlock it £15.

once it's unlocked is it possible to debrand it yourself ?
or do you need a smartclip for that also ?

    motorola v3x
    orange

    regards

Not had much experience with Motos yet, but I think these are flashed via testpoint m8. I dont think there are any free solutions.

Not really m8, it all depends on how much they are chargeing for the postage too.

Flashing/debranding can cost approx £10 - £15, but I am sure someone would have done it cheaper.

Unlocking can cost upto £10 too.

To be honest m8, I hate Moto's so I would personally say no, lol. But there shouldnt be much difference between them apart from the obvious Orange branding m8. Also, the button used to connect to the Orange web wont be the same, it will be replaced by another button (I dont know what though, lol)

to do anything really with v3x you need a TP but i flashed it with moto software and the phone is a hell of a lot better even down to battery life

once it's been unlocked you don't need a tp
all you do is flash it with moto oem firmware and your away

you'll most likely find that once you get rid of the Orange branding and put on the Original Motorola firmware the phone will run faster and will less likely to crash.

also some extra menus might be available, remember in order to use gprs/mms you will need to go to the motorola website to get the settings sent to your phone.

I debranded my V3 myself with instruction & s/ware off the net. It was a bit nerveracking to start with, but the phone (originally on Orange) was a lot faster and battery life better.

    Hope this helps

It was the V3 I did, but the guide I used said the V3x was the same just using an different options on the software. Can't remember the software name(s) or version(s) (lost it in a comp. crash), but there were about 2-3 programs you had to use to download, edit & upload new info.
