360 Bricked???

Just wondered if anyone had any idea what this might be?

Just turned on the lads 360 to have a quick go of that just cause i like it
anyway it loads ok i press start then select load game then as soon as the actual loading screen has finished and the game is about to appear it crashes just like a fucked video card on a PC would! all multi coloured tiny squares all over the screen and makes a weird squealing noise, I thought it must be the game but its doing the same thing on every game even originals wether im plugged into live or not, funny thing is that it loads the menus on all fine just when you actually get to the bit where your about to take control of the game it hangs, need to sort this ASAP the lad will be gutted and he will lame me for modding it

Sounds like the classic over heating problem that plagued the first batch of 360s. Are all of the ventilation holes on the back of the xbox clear?

are you using any exra cooling? both of mine have Intercoolers, never had a problem even after 14 hour Oblivion marathons.

hey stop hijacking my thread and help me out!
No not using any cooling hre and the vents are clear was quite a hot day today but it never happened when we had the huge heatwave a few months back???
Thing is I just tried playing the demos on the HDD and they seem to work fine but CL media nad originals make it hang so I think the F/W Flash could be causing it?? maybe i will try the Birdy F/W its a Hitachi-LG drive so i was using the OPA-XTREME-HITACHI-7IN1-V2_1 FW what you think? Only thing is I never really heard of that a flash going bad after they normally either work or dont right? One other thing to mention though is most of the images I wrote on a 111D on Verbs at 1X and they still freeze up a lot in fact almost all the stuff i done has frozen at some point.

put the original f/w back on and try it with some originals
also make sure your PSU is not overheating

People moaned that the 360 was too noisey at launch, well wait until you hear one of these bad boys!

its overheating - nothing to do with fw

try playing it with lid off with a household cooling fan pointing on top of it it will work for a short while same thing happend to m8 in the end sent it back is microsoft put orig fw back though

It was originally from Comet but bought by someone else in Scotland I grabbed it off eBay in the Xmas rush last year so what would you suggest straight back to MS or go to my local Comet I do still have the original receipt.

tell them you have 3 red lights also,they will swap it asap

you can find out what the problem is.

When you see the three red lights press the eject button AND the wifi sync button at the same time, the front LEDs will blink to give you a number. You do this four (4) times to get a four digit number. Number of lights on is the number to write down.

Have a go by trying this.

had the same prob with mine, tried the heat gun method , worked temp then it didnt

in the end i just stuck it on bay, i tried allsorts i didnt dare return it cause i torn the seal off and paid with a credit card, didnt want them tracing it back to me
