Wow just down the road from me...didn't think we would get this sort of stuff.

Saying that if it was on the north peir of Tynemouth couldn't it have been supergran?

Where shall we take the Black Manta today lads? Lake District? Scottish Highlands? No! How about the North Pier of Tynemouth.

well a while back, as posted in shack, I actually thought I captured some unusual contrails, maybe easyjet maybe not, who knows?

BTW i only live a few miles from the main posters sighting location, it was taken with a mobile phone some 10 or 15 minutes after my initial sighting, due to the phone being back at the office. It was around 5:30am on a sunny morning.

nice shot, they reckon that type of contrail could be caused from a ramjet.

    Cheers

yep, there was some talk of it might be caused by Aurora type of aircraft, strangly enough there was a piece on BBCs Newsnight about Aurora and the British involvment the day after I took that pic.

It was taken looking out to sea on the North East coast and was going in a North to South direction, following the coast, it also was fully formed when I first seen it, right across the sky, unfortunatly by the time I took the pic that was the only real visible part left, the rest blown out by the wind.

    here is a similar pic..

was wondering if there maybe something in common with your pic of that Manta and my blocky pic, seems it was in the same area.

Edit: wonders if its similar to this? http://www.spacedaily.com/news/uav-01j.html

thats a picture taken from a real live 'Worms' fight, thats the airstrike, next you will see the 'kamakazi' and 'oh dear' boom

Where abouts do you live anyway because i'am a few miles from where it was shot.

That pic looks typical of an expanding and dispersing contrail from an airliner. Nothing unusual there imo.
