Default Flash from Fat32 hard drive instead of USB?

I'm currently using a USB stick and my own PC for flashing samsungs, this is a real pain in the neck as its my main PC.
Now i have an old PC & PCI sata card (via) but it does not support booting from USB and i just plain dont trust floppys for reliability whilst flashing.
Is there anyway to use the hard drive the same as the USB stick (i have tried copying the files from the USB stick to a freshly fat32 formatted hard drive but it wouldnt boot)?
If so how do i go about getting the hard drive to boot to a command prompt?
Sorry if i'm being a bit of a div here

I use a floppy all the time with the ones I do, and that is regularly changing the mtkflash on it also.

With the recovery methods out ther for bad flashes also, really dont think this should be an issue.

Might have to invest in another though

You need to format the disk using the command format c: /s
which will make the drive bootable
