    Default samsung ms28 help please

got the dreaded ms28..............ive used the "vcc" switch method to flash this drive but do i have to solder the resistor back on after it is flashed ????? done the usual reading of the tuts but it doesnt say.

    cheers

    chippy

    *edit*

    found it ...........h**p://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=535222&st=30

apparently its a 0 ohm resistor...........so a solder or wire link will suffice

Should have tried the bad flash recovery method m8! I've heard LOADS of ppl having a lot of success with MS28's using just the bad recovery method and a Via VT6421L PCI SATA card!

Saves you soldering and pissing about with the drive!

Glad to hear you got it sorted anyway m8!

Got one and not used it yet, been waiting on an MS28 coming my way - hopefully I'll have one tomorrow, and I'll give it a whirl.

If you are going to use a PCI SATA Card with VIA VT6421a Chipset you will need to patch your MTKFLASH.EXE as the original EXE is set up to use the VIA8237 Chipset.

You will find that FED-PC have made a PPF3.0 patch file (PDX PPF-O-Matic 3.0) / patch.data file (ADR Patcher 0.5) for those that need to quickly patch their MTKFLASH.EXE for their Card.

You can find the download to the Patch file HERE.
