    Default WHY CANT ARGOS HONOR OUR WARRANTIES

    my xbox 360 went on the fritz last night wheres it would only load dvd disc and no xbox 360 orig disc or extreme disc would run
    it would come up with a box saying to play this game put in it in a xbox 360
    now i know what some people are going to say "it doesnt have correct drive key" but it does or did as ive be using it since pizzaman sorted for me

    anyways took it back to argos and had a right carry on with some w**ker
    and after waiting 45 mins was told it will need sending away so they have my xbox 360 unit and contents all boxed and my name and address
    so a couple of questions to all that can answer

    1 why could they just not replace it as i was in warranty period

    2 will it matter with it still being loaded with extreme

    3 why cant microshaft send it back to me instead of argos

    4 how long will the whole process take to get the unit back to me/argos

    5 will i get alll the contents back as i sent it with it all

    ok argos prob got same policies as tescos those are:

    any product purchased (consoles m$, ninny or sony)
    is only able to be returned / exchanged / refunded if within 28 days of purchase, thereafter it has to be dealt with by the relevant company in ur case M$.

    Normally they will open it up access the damage, if its not a simple part replacement and something major then they'll send u a new one direct. otherwise they'll replace the part and send it back. Im not up on the xbox mods but if ur running a hard or soft mod either way i reckon they'll find it and if thats so u've fucked ur warranty and they may return it or if they wanna make an example of ya you may get a uniformed knock at the door... and u wont get it back....

    So a helpful hint, if its modded, remove it prior to exchange...
    I used to work on the electrical desk in my store and i check all consoles to make sure the screws aint been undone etc...

    what you should have done is buy a new one , then take the old one back saying its faulty and you've already bought a replacement so u just want a refund. that way your still within ur 28 days (obviously take it back a few days after purchase to make it more believable)

    Within 28 day's on certain products you are entitled to an exchange or refund. After that period it's on the discretion of the retailer.

    Your warranty is for repairs, If Microsoft have stated that all units outside of the 28 day warranty have to be returned for repair, that is the way it is. (I am surprised you can't deal directly with Microsoft though, it's direct with Sony PS2)


    Also if you have or if the machine has been modded in anyway do you really think Microsoft should just give you a new one? Say you were Microsoft and I was hacking your equipment to play copies, would you then go out of your way to send me a new machine so that I could do it all over again? No.

    I hope you're lucky and get a new machine, but if you dont then that is the chance you take with modifying a console.

    No Refunds at 'Argoose' just a replacement as i have already found out

    theres very little chance of a comeback, although argos/ms would be well in their rights to give you back the 360 and tell u where to put it if they found out it had been hacked.

    The thing is its not worth MS employing someone to open your machine and use whatever methods to see if youve flashed your firmware, so i think your safe, especially with the number of machines that are being returned anyway..

    There was a post over on XH I think it was saying that someone returned a console back to MS with the hacked firmware and their Live account was banned - if the same happens to you then you know they weren't joking!
