I used to run Norton 2006 and soon fucked it off.

I now use the "Symantec Antivirus Client" which is the same thing(!!) but with all the shite stripped out, just the auto-protect & virus checker and the live update engine.

Much, much better and not so bloated, but if you wanna say away from Norton I hear AVG is very good.

I was thinking about AVG, but looking at it ,it looks like it will take a lot of resources.
nod32 I am not sure about it, it looks small, will it really keep all virus' away?
    Thanks

    Nod32 here.

Marcode recommended it and he was spot on.

Immediate improvement in system resources and speed over norton which I was running at the time.

I use Bit Defender for the frequency of the updates.

Nod32 here, and i've tried most AV's, this is the only one i've stuck with and that's actually kept my PC clean, other's have let things slip through.

I also installed it on my family's PC, they were constantly infecting that by looking at crap and downloading rubbish, they've not had an infection since.

been using nod for ages, great stuff, keeps it simple, does the job, and as others said, doesn't use as much system resources which is great.

Have opted to try Nod32, seeing as it has good comments. Not very much cpu used either. It is very good. Although i wonder how you can automatically start it at start up? It will not start and i don't see an option anywhere.
