Looking for good cheap camera

A friend is looking to buy a camera for her son,
Been looking at this, which seems a good price for a 8mp camera, i have had a camera from vivatar before and it is good, so i suggested this camera to her,what do you think??

Personally I'd opt for something like the Canon Powershot A430. Cheaper than the Vivitar but still more than capable of providing good 6x4 or 7x5 prints.
