Ford Body Warranty Help

My friend has got a 51 plate Ford Fiesta which is just over 4years old. Rust has started to appear on the panel under her lights at the rear of the car. In the Service book it says that the body work is guranteed for 6years for rust, so how would she go about getting the problem repaired by Ford?

Does it mention anything about servicing/inspection required, and has this been carried out on schedule is the first thing to check.

Nothing mentioned about that. Just says that you have to refer to your car care sections, which basically says that you will clean the car regular and that you will not leave dirt or bird muck on it for long periods of time because that can cause damage.

i would contact the dealership he bought it from and tell them you are claiming on the rust free guarentee but be careful it doesnt say warrenty as gaurentee meand you dont pay warrenty means there will be some sort of payment depending on the age of the car.

but to be fair fords always rust sooner or later

What usually happens is you take your car to a Ford dealer, they inspect it and say the rust is from the outside in and isn't covered.
They will also try to worm out of sorting it if the car has had any bodywork repairs done on it and will check the paint thickness with a gauge to check.

You might drop on lucky and they agree to do the work, but in my experience it's a right pain in the arse to actually get them to admit there's a fault.

Book it in for an inspection m8, good luck and let us know how you got on.

dont waste your time they will just fob you off
they will argue incorrect aftercare or repairs that are not up to standard

you might have a chance if the rust is under the paintwork and the measure it with a micrometer should be about 60

The rust is under the paint work and the paint work is bubbling around it. She has had the car drom new and has not been involved in any sort of accident.
