for those familiar with iso ripping, you can relink the larger movie files to el-viento.pmf, leaving the main intro movie alone. delete the update folder and leave the sound files intact. the remaining image cso's to 303mb.
works fine for me in no-umd mode..this game is actually pretty cool, I like the puzzle section.

I'm the same, except Lumines is the only PSP game I play FULL STOP. Not fussed with any others. Hoping this will be great though....if not, there's always Lumines Live

I just heard about this edition, going to look it up now, but has anyone got it played it?

I cant imagine what they could do to offer more. I too still play this game and sometimes cant put it down. Can it be improved or will this be a release that looks good on paper but is actually a little stupid?

The only decent addition i saw to Tetris was many moons later on the SNES when somethign called Bombliss was packaged into it as well. I reconmend anyone looks this up with an emu, damn good puzzel mode.

    Cheers.....Q

It's pretty rock solid as sequels go. It's Lumines+ if you ask me. It's the original game with new track and some commercial music such as the Black Eyed Peas along with the music video as a background. What makes it worthy of the purchase is that they have now added an ENORMOUS amount of new features including a Skin Edit mode, where you can at last play list the Songs you like and play them on a loop, something I'd have loved in the first one. There is also the option to compose your own BG music and use it in the Skin Edit mode.

I haven't checked out the Multi player yet, but from the quick browse I had it looks like it's Ad-Hoc and not the full online Infrastructure jobbie.

okay, someone is going to have to tell me how the f*** you complete the 4x4 puzzle level. its doing my swede in!

I can get it to look like this...

    X--X
    X--X
    X--X
    XXXX

but as soon as I put a 4 in the middle it disappears!

    cheers

Never understood the fuss about this game. You make blocks and shit. Fair enough, but the music is supposed to be great too.
Here's my problem. I could play a different puzzle game and have radio 1 playing in the background. Please, someone tell me what the fuss is all about.
I'd love to play this game more but feel I'm missing something.

/me dismisses rizla as someone who cant see past gta

ahh i see it doesnt have enough guns or vehicles 'woah dude i just got the tank'

seriously tho its a perfect mix of simplicity and longevity, easy gameplay, addictiveness, pick up and playability which takes an age to master. Lumines 1 was all of these and lumines 2 is a natural progression. Not had that much time on it yet but some of the new skins are amazing. The ascii art one and 'regret' are great to play. For me its the perfect handheld game.

Lumines gets played maybe 20 hours a week on my psp by different people (no im not kidding) Games generally get played for a while, maybe to completion but they come to some sort of 'end' where you dont go back to them. Lumines hasn't and lumines 2 looks like it wont either.

The fuss with the music is how well its intergrated with the skin and the beat of the scanner, speed of the blocks and general play. As you change skins, the speed and rhythm changes. It's a real skill seeing the change and adapting to it without breaking up your patterns too much. You've spent so long looking at green and white squares, now you have to translate that into red and orange blobs. Sounds like nothing but can be very challenging.

My girlfriend doesnt play games. I gave her lumines for 20 mins while i was doing something one day. Now she cannot put it down and whenever she goes home my psp mysteriously disappears too. She plays NOTHING else.

    lol cheers mate

I thought Lumines would be like Rez or something. I thought the music would change the more blocks you get. I must admit that I do give it a bash now and again (in between GTA bouts) and it's ok.
Got to a stage where they had a music video playing in the background and that was pretty smart.

rez rocked, did you ever see that vibrator pack thing they released ? Called it the trance vibrator or something but it was definately a way of keeping your bird amused while you played video games.
