    Default DVR and CCTV

    Hiya
A customer has asked if I can fit a DVR card in a PC I installed a month ago, yeah it shouldn be a problem after all its just a PCI card I can fit those with my eyes shut. I then started looking in to them and there are so many different ones available, different cameras ect and they need to be cabled I know there are wireless ones about but none of the siste I have seen are offering them.

So does anyone know anything about them? which ones are good which ones to avoid, recomendations on cameras? searching google just comes up with companies wanting to sell them as a kit but offer no advice.

    Thanks
    LJ

Well I spoke to the guy eariler today and he has contacted someone who is going to intall a CCTV system for him that records to a hard drive, the CCTV guy says it can be connected to a PC to view the video so I have no need to learn anything now untill he getts the system installed.

I may have a play and buy a system when I have some spare cash I could go in to the cctv game.

all you will need then is one of these

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/U42-4-Channels...QQcmdZViewItem

they allow bnc and rca connections with the supplied convertorthe cctv company fit allows rca output

or even a normal tv card will work if the dvr box the cctv company fit allows rca output which most if not all allow it could even allow network output

and you will also need some software like picco 2000 thats what we used when i worked for them
