Ive got 2 motherboards running and i need to boot from USB mem stick in order to flash a 360, my main pc is a ABit NF7, which doesnt seem to support USB booting at all, however i have an old Epia800 board, which apparently does if you set it to boot from USB-ZIP in the bios.
Ive made a bootable disk from the stick, Using an HP app which i have used successfully in the past (with a diff motherboard) and this makes 3 files on the drive, MSDOS.SYS, COMMAND.COM and IO.SYS.
When i put the stick into the Epia, it gets as far as a line of text that says "Verifying DMI Pool Data...........Update success" but goes no further, if i remove the stick at this point, the machine asks for a system disk, so it must be atleast trying to boot from it.
Does anyone have any ideas or experience using these epia boards, info on them is reletivly scarce online, i think a newer bios is available, but id have to make a bootable cd to do that, and thats another post cos i have no idea!
Thanks in advance
