    $8499 back then you must have had to be loaded, don't know what that equates to now but bet its quite a lot.

    operating at a lightening speed of 20Mhz haha, that made me laugh! i remeber the mesh adverts on the back of computer active when that came out, they where allways £2000 but every week teh price stayed the same but new features where added, they really have come down in price!

    What do you mean "had" - you mean you don't play "BC's Quest for Tyres" or Way of the Exploding Fist" any more???

    Gears of War was out on the C64 years ago - it was called "Commando"....

    I still got My Vic20 and C64 but I dont use them anymore

    My old computers are colecting dust as well. I'll have to plug my Atari 800XL in and see whether it still wants to power up or not. The last time I looked at the C64 the plastic had started to yellow a bit.

    I have fun on all the latest games like GOW etc. but I don't think I've ever been as mesmerised like the first time I heard my C64 say "Ghostbusters!" or seen the animation in "Impossible Mission". Happy days.

    funny thing is my dads got all those plus 3 amstrads, 3 amigas and all rhe accessories in our loft... having a sort out next month so if ur a retro collector keep an eye in the buy sell and trade section lol....

    Still got me SNES and Amiga A500 (with external drive no less!) in the wardrobe.

    REFUSE to part with them!
