older 360's suppliers?

Hey guys

I need to buy another 360 [with the hardrive] which will take the flash, i heard the boxes with handles can be flashed or if the bar code does not have 633 or 635 in it, can anybody confirm this please? and secondly does anybody know anywhere in or around the Manchester area where they definatley have the older 360s in stock?

i went to Tesco today which didnt have any in, so i guess its down to the bigger stores.

I have done 2 this week 1 was a Core Lot 0632 had a Sammy drive, And a premium my M8 bought from tesco monday night lot 0631 had another sammy.

I was pretty suprised as the premium had a manufacture date of August 2006 which i have been told to stay clear of.

Looks like 0633 and under are pretty safe so far.

Yes m8! Its on the sticker on the side of the box, but the box doesn't say "Batch No: 06xx" it says "LOT No: 06xx"

got one from comet in rochdale, they have 46 in stock and they sales rep said pretty much all the ones in the warehouse had handles, i dont have the barcode/batch number here at work atm, but it didnt have 633 or 635 in the batch/barcode, im pretty sure it was 630.

On the top of the box was a tab you could push through and it showed the barcode on the actual 360.

We also got PGR and another pad for an extra £20, bargain considering the pads alone are £32.

I'm off to buy 5 Core's tonight, the bloke has said they're September 2006 but they have Samsung drives in, will these be ok to flash?

yes m8! The only drive that you dont want is a Hitachi LG with ROM version 0078fk (LOT633 and above), ALL Sammy's are fine!

I picked up a sammy m29 lot number 0629 from gamestation i asked to see the serial number and said it was because I had heard that certain drives were quieter than others

Well if the shop wants a sale, I dont think they'll be fussed about you just asking to look at the side of the box to see the LOT no.its your cash, if the guy gets a bit fussy about you asking, then just tell them you'll go spend your hard earned cash somewhere else!

popped into John Lewis today, they had about 10 360 boxed up on the shelf, ity was the limited edition set that comes with wwe smackdown vs raw 2007

anyway it had LOT number 0646 on all of them.

Most sales people just want the commision from the sale and care very little about what you will be doing to the console, I used to work for currys, their all mad on getting the most sales, so just be honest and say "Gief me Moddable 360 plz"
