Mario Kart Wii ?

Does anyone have any info or decent links for Mario kart wii?? i take it there is going to be a new wii version?

I was talking with a friend about this the other day. I've not heard anything, but I can't believe Nintendo would miss the opportunity to make an Mario Kart where you steer using the wii remote, and also give us the ability to have online Mario Kart tournaments. The sheer fun that can be had when you're just racing a couple of mates on the N64 version is unreal, the thought of being able to have 8 players on track from around the world - well, it would be too good to be true IMO!

my thoughts exactly, one of the all time best MP games ever made, it could be HUGE , but im 100000% sure it will be around soonish (late 07)

Just checked, apparently Nintendo has released a Mario Kart for each console, so there will be one for the Wii too.

Although a Mario Kart game is not in active development for the system, EAD producer Hideki Konno has indicated that the Wii is the "next logical step" for the Mario Kart series.

Obviously I hope there'll be a cart for the wii, but I doubt the remote would be any good for that sort of game...

Especially when playing online against tough opposition, you'd need extreme accuracy which I'd imagine would be a little tricky

Even if it just played the good old SNES Mario Kart i'd be happy!

But yeah, playing the DS Mario Kart on WiFi is pretty awesome
(until the n00b your playing is getting horsed so leaves the game, VERY annoying!)
