    Default Manchester United v Chelsea

1 - 1 Fair result, quality game. The two best teams in the league.

Some brilliant individual match ups on the field of play as well.

    Scholes v Lampard - 1 - 0 to Scholes.
Ronaldo v Cole - 1 - 1 I hate Cashley but he was excellent today, likewise Ronaldo.

Man of the match - Michael Carrick, dead impressive today but I wonder how Chelsea would've done had Essien played the full 90 minutes.

agree with you completly fair result. they had the 1st half we had the 2nd and a great match to watch, shame we couldn't have taken advantage of that possession in the 2nd half. but well done the blues

For all their possession, Chelsea made very few clear cut chances. Vidic along with Rio were outstanding again, Neville, solid as ever, though he rarely got forward and Heinze was excellent. United have perhaps as good a defence at the moment as there is in the premiership.

Yeah, got to agree with the comments. Game of two halves, United took the first and Chelsea took the second.

For me the huge difference was the squad. Chelsea had world class talent to bring on, we had Championship quality to bring on. When Rooney and Saha were tiring there was no option other than to bring on midfielders and hold the game. This match was never going to decide the title, but what it would have confirmed was United's ability to mount a real challenge. On today's evidence I do worry that 1 or 2 injuries - which will undoubtely occur - means the United title chance will disappear. Still, its a huge improvement on last season, and you can't ask for any more than that. Carrick anc Vidic have made a huge difference for us.

I also came to the conclusion that Saha is like the striking version of Fabien Barthez. Absolutely brilliant on occasions, absolute wank on others .

Saha was awful today I thought - other than his goal - which was absolutely top drawer....but I expect nothing less from him now LOL.

Vidic irritated me today, played like a pussy, reminds me of Ronnie Johnsen quite a bit actually.

I wanted a 1-1 draw before the match, so pleased it turned out that way - Liverpool and Arsenal are well out of it, so hopefully Chelsea and Man Utd can make it an interesting run in after xmas. I think Chelsea will nick it though....

Vidic kept Chelsea at bay, made virtually no mistakes, unlike Rio giving the ball away and creating a major goal attempt.

Didn't like the way he went down at the beginning - now that fucks me off.

What a great game this was... Excitement all the way and no crap of ref hogging, diving, trying to get people sent off..

Watching Ronaldo Vs Cole is always good entertainment in club/ country matches. Also think Ref was V.good today and let a lot of stuff go by without causing any bother.. (although Ballack was a bit of a tw@t early doors..)

Great game and should be the case week in and week out.. Watch and learn Liverpool and Arsenal... Two top teams can play a good game without bitching and moaning.

@BBK.. C'mon dude... Rio was brilliant today..

Rio brilliant? Did you not see the touch of arrogance during the second half where he got completely caught with the ball? It was just before Giggs passed the ball to Chelsea straight from a free kick. Its silly mistakes like that that increase the pressure on the side and lead to goals.

Good game. And I have Saha and Carvellio in my dream team. Both dropped points, and good to watch. Perfect.

Can't complain. Would've been annoyed if we'd lost it.

Although felt a little uncomfortable wearing the only blue shirt in a pub full of Mancs! My cheer at Carv's goal was a little muted!

He did that a couple of times, and also tried to knock Cuddicini out with his forearm at least once. Nice guy.

So you missed the fouls by Ballack and the deliberate elbows from Sheva and Drogba did you? All on Vidic? And still they couldn't break him down, their goal coming from a set piece again.

The guy is class, just admit it and move on.

This season your lot haven't been as bad as previous seasons (fans moaning about Gary Neville's goal celebration last season for instance) but I think Kopites have finally got used to losing!

The Cole vs Ronaldo battle was very reminiscent of their battle at Euro 2004 in Lisbon...where they both played well and you couldn't fault either...whilst I think they are both poncey pricks at times I think its always good watching two v.good players up against each other in a big game

No I didnt miss them, however I expect nothing less from Chelsea - Utd seldom have to resort to such tactics though, and in my opinion, are one of the fairest teams in the EPL (Ronaldo aside) Vidic, isnt from the same mold as the rest of the United lads, sadly - he is what most of us refer to as a "typical foreign footballer" with all the theatrics and bullshit histrionics. Hopefully, him being at united, surrounded by pretty decent professionals (as much as I hate Neville and Rooney) he should cut that out of his game....

Vidic is pure quality. Chelsea couldnt touch him, well apart from when Drogba elbowed him in the face! Uniteds back 4 are the best in the prem at the moment.
