    Default Dental Implants

My dentist has proposed a dental implant to replace a missing tooth. Anyone on here had any experience with them?

Well costly, looking at one grand a pop...

A lad here had one done and it is a painful process. His ws in the region of 2k though and the surgery around it is a bit nasty but good if you can put up with it. He had a crown before that kept falling off and needing regluing and six months after having his he is well happy with it.

Total cost will be about 2K, it costs another 1K for the crown and abutment....

I saw a demonstration video of the procedure at the dentist last year. It looked painful and it cannot be done in one hit. For something like that I'd want to be knocked out.

Bumping an old thread as all members are still active.

Anyone any experiences of Dental tourism ?
A quick google seems to point to Hungary being the nerve centre.

Had some work in Thailand was state of the art place and about 10% of the cost it would be here, exchange rate is a lot worse now but would still expect it to be way cheaper.

The work I've had done in Japan has been very good as well. Plus, they removed all of my old British fillings as lead based amalgam fillings are illegal over here.

I also had a wisdom tooth taken out and laser removal for a mouth ulcer (smells like bbq)

    All good.

    Thanks to Thrush

I had an implant done in India. Had to make 2 trips out there. I was going there anyway on one of them plus I work for an airline so get cheap flights. My dentist in uk quoted me £2100 for 1 implant + £1300 for some other work. I had the lot done in India for £500 (+ flights) and I had 2 weeks in the sun.

A friend of a friend went to Poland and saved quite a few K's and another mate was on about going to Cairo as he needed 4 implants. Don't know if he went though.

    Thanks to Clubber Lang
