lightgun on a lcd tv

am I right in thinking that the dreamcast lightgun probably wont work on a lcd hdtv (samsung le26)

That's correct mate, there is a gun out there that works on LCD & Plasma but i don't think it's available for the DC.

I remember some time ago seeing a contraption you could buy that bolted onto your TV to enable standard light guns to work but it's seems like more trouble than it's worth. It was like a screen that went infront of your TV to convert the signal. Don't know if it was ever released and i can't find anything about it after a quick search on the net.
