would remote assistance not do this for you?
remote assistance as its part of win so she should be able to start it,or vnc or logmein but those need downloaded and installed.I presume she has XP.
Ultravnc is excellent.
Start -> Run -> MSTSC.exe
Assuming you both have XP
I'm also intereted in this , just tried it between 2 pc's at home and got it working using this info
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...moteintro.mspx
not sure about how it will work over internet though, will have to have a word with family tonight to try it

remote desktop is better than any of the other VNC shite out there, its faster, more responsive, has better graphical output, its generally more reliable, and whats more it comes free with windows.
you simply connect to the ip of the machine you wish to log in to... both machines must have the nessessary ports (3389) open and available.
when u connect to a remote machine its like logging into that machine, you must have a user account on the machine or know one of the accounts. when u log on remotely, the monitor of the remote machine goes blank and the other person can see nothing..
so if your using this as a support or collaboration tool, your going the wrong way, remote desktop solutions are generally for simply logging into and controlling remote machines..
if your after collaboration, id go with windows netmeeting (start>run>conf)
Dont forget that the admin account on the PC must have a password set. If it is blank it wont work.
Also there is a way to see what is being done but it involves sending an invitation for remote assistance.

not used vnc since, but it may have improved...
then again, perhaps were all talking about different VNC apps, ive used realvnc and tightvnc
