I've done this, being a Dolphins fan I'm really hoping I can get tickets. Between myself and my mates though I'm quietly confident. It should be awesome.

I'd consider going to this as well. It's obviously a rare thing to be able to watch an NFL game and I'd like to experience it. There is talk of a franchise coming to the UK in the next ten years or so if there's sufficient interest in this game and future fixtures.

I wonder if they'll let fans get bevvied up in the stands like they do in the states?

It would be a chance to see Wembley as well. See if it lives up to the money, time and energy that's been spent on it.

The only way there'll be a franchise in this country is part of NFLe. Since the demise of the Claymores it's surprising that we even managed to get this game given that Germany was in the running and has a number of teams.

Maybe but it's definitely been mooted as a possibility that NFL franchises could become global.

Lets face it, if there a few quid in it they'll franchise it anywhere.

Not sure why anyone wants to watch 4 hours of stop-start action, players traipsing on and traipsing off, specialist kickers etc. And anyway, realistically how is any proposed NFLe any different to what we had a few years ago with the London Monarchs?

American "football" is never going to be popular over here. Its not a game that can ever be played in schools here - there's enough schools here won't play rugby because of its contact nature, and American "football" requires all the equipment to go with it. "Soccer" may one day become successful in the US, its a sport than can be played by someone on their own with a wall and a ball, but American "football" requires too much organisation to be taken on in schools, and IMO therefore can never be successful.

I appreciate the sentiments and that cartoon is funny but as far as I'm concerned American 'Football' is a great sport. Yes, the stop-start nature of the game can be irritating but it's quick, varied and there are few sports where someone throws a ball 70 yards to a bloke who can do the 100 metre sprint in less than 11 seconds. It's not football, it never will be, football is more than just a spectator sport you'll occasionally take in recreationally but there's always room for other quality sports and if american football proved popular enough over here to be profitable enough for an NFL franchise (though I doubt it ever will) there's always room for something new. Football fans will still watch football, I know I will.

It's a really enjoyable sport and also one that can be very sociable to watch. Due to the very nature of the game not being one that you need to watch every second you can have a drink and a laugh with your mates for a few hours and see all the big plays (especially given the producers' tendencies towards replays of everything).

yea i am going to this with team members. I like playing American football but i think it is boring watching it on tv, will be watching the superbowl tonight but. I am not one of those people who catch the ball and can do the 100m under 11 seconds i can do it in 11.30
