PS3 Virtua Fighter 5 has landed on my doorstep...:)

    Hi,

Just wanted to let you all know my shipment of VF5's have arrived this morning, spent most of the day sending out my orders.

now i have finally got round to giving it a run, it looks really good and if you are a VF wanna be like me then this is the game for you....

after only playing it for about 1hr it really is the best of the best, yes tekken is up there but for me the pinnacle is VF.... and VF5 takes it to a new level....

i'm off to play more, i will be back online about 10pm to answer any questions leave them on the thread and i will reply latter once i have spent a few hours with it....

looks top notch so far i have to say....

    Thanks

    BP

Does look tremendous this game, but tbh the lack of online play has put me right off, will wait for 360 version which will hopefully be feature packed, and not feature stripped like the ps3 one (

I think thats just put me off the PS3 for now....until they start making games on the same par or better than the xbox 360, then I'll pull out my wallet for them.

the lack of an organised network for multiplayer is strangelling sony at the mo, vitrua tennis is also missing its online play which the 360 will get.

VF was always my favourite 3D fighter, recieved very very good reviews in japan too, so we should see a spike in the sales there atleast.

well i have now been playing it for approx 5 hrs in total and my overall i'm very disappointed with this release.

Belial hit the nail on the head there is simply no network capabilites at all. in this day and ages this is just unaccepable when you consider the next generation of consoles should be focusing on network play.

Sony seem to be missing the plot completely with there current releases of games when you consider what the 360 offers with LIVE.

the game itself is top notch and would have been the quality title everyone was expecting, but to miss out network play that is just not good enough.

They really need to start taking note of what the current market is demanding rather than rest on the what they have done in the past.....

    Thanks

I dont even know if it's sony at fault, as clearly the network infrastructure is there, games are using it fine, i play ridge racer and gripshift fine on there, resistance uses its own network though which is odd, but i've no idea at all why sega wouldn't put the online aspects into the ps3 versions at all, unless there's some kind of back-hander from MS to include networking in the 360 verison only or something

in all fairness i cant really see the fun in VF online anyway, half the fun of 2 player fighters is the banter between the players and the real world interaction, it does look bad when sonys wonder machine is failing to provide features of its supposedly weaker rival tho.
It will sell in japan anyway, and that will keep sega and sony happy, maybe by the time we get the game in the west it will have online added, is it due soon?

yep 2 player is fun, my son kicked my arse all over the arena's last night, its a really good game.

i would of liked to have a network option in there to make it a bit more interesting....

must say the graphics are the best i have seen so far, and that includes tekken on the ps3.....
