I use daily disposables everyday. I get ripped off because I'm with a local optician so it equates to £1 per pair of dailys. Aftercare is great though.
I can't have monthlys, basically my tear ducts are shit and dont produce enough tears and the quality of tear is poor too due to poor oil production by my eye lids.
When I put my contacts in first thing, I have great vision, much better than my glasses, but after about 8 hours use they start to dry and go a bit blurry. Its to do with tiredness vs blink rate. This will also be noticeable sitting infront of a computer, as when you are concentrating on something, your blink rate decreases. This means less of the tears get to the lens and the lens dries, making the lens uncomfortable. Another common problem is that people with lenses forget how to blink properly and only blink half way instead of shutting the eyelid properly, this also leads to a dried lenses and obviously discomfort.
You can teach yourself to blink correctly but can look like a bit of a freak doing so - my sisters terrible for that.
Also, I know plenty of people using contacts and the majority of people using monthly lenses whether you leave them in or take them out have had a problem somewhere along the lines with infection. Its usually their own fault for not being any good at cleaning them... but with dailys, you eliminate the problem.
Anyway - theres a couple of issues you might want to talk to the optician about. Especially what you will be using them for... [I doubt they will recommend contacts over glasses for computer work]
