PS3 - Will it sell out?

Just a theory,

The console is £500 with a game and a pad;

It's not near Xmas so little spoilt Johnny hasn't a chance of getting one;

There seems to be an abundance of open preorders still available;

Reading the latest issue of Edge seems like the launch titles and limited online play has a few concerns;

Retail bundles are growing overseas;

Surprisingly the 20GB model details are very thin regarding price and launch;

I've always been greedy when it comes to new machines - but something is niggling me about this one....

Yes it will sell out as they will be limited stock... initially. Sony's always done the low stock stunt to gain free publicity. Something Nintendo have jumped on board with the Wii.

i think it will sell well, maybe even sell out but not to a massive degree, i cant see there being such a rush at the time of year like you mention, anyone hoping to make a quick quid on ebay may be disapointed.

I think it will sell out in places like game/gamestation and a few other places but I dont see alot of people having £450+ spare.

Thought about the 360 but always been a PS fan. Got PlayStation at launch, got PS2 at launch so (fingers crossed) will be getting PS3 at launch but have got slight reservations about it. Never really wanted a 360 but been reading things on here and elsewhere and starting to come round to the idea. PLus if I don't like it some mug will pay me a damn sight more than I paid for it

do it the other way arround if anything, the PS3 at the moment has very little to offer, just as the 360 didnt at this stage in its life, if your spending 500 quid and expecting lots of amazing games, you will be disapointed, do the same in 12 months time and you wont.

Aren't "play" the ones who still haven't delivered any Wii's that were pre-ordered in November? Or am I getting mixed up?

I know the PS3 won't have a great launch line up. The way I see it, if I didn't like it (hoping I don't), the money I'll be able to make on it will be able to furnish my 360 experience
