My daughter in her new dressing up clothes, as Elizabeth Swan, from Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest.


Taken in RAW, converted and background added and soft-focus filter around the outside edges. Lights were 2 tungsten desklamps, to the left one as main light, to the right as fill in light for shadows, and a direct flash diffused with -2 exposure compensation.


She was a bit fidgety, more interested in wafting the bloody fan than sitting still (and she never sits still at the best of times, never mind when trying to get her to be still, and relaxed together!)

Not to bad though.

C&C always appreciated.

It's a nice pic, you've clearly gone to a lot of effort with it and it is very tough to get kids to sit still whilst you take shots (believe me, i've tried 100's ).

I must say though, I really don't get on with the added background at all. The lines of her face are too harsh against the background, and i think it's the wrong colour for the background too, way too much brown in the image.

What background was there originally? could you not do something with the original background instead of using a diff one?

Plain dull green.... I can change the colour of the background here though if that would help? What colour would you like?

Hmm i think something in-between But hey, dont just listen to me, wait to see what others think before you spend hours changing it

i quite like the photo
i think the background is on the right track it gives the photo an 'old' look which considering the dress isn't a bad thing

the backgound is ok, but i feel its very noticable that its been added later, esp on the right side, i think it would benifit from not being cropped so low too, and maybe some filter/effect to make it look really old.
