Default question about supported ram on motherboard

hi, im building a new pc and plan on getting a

    intel pentium e6600
    Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi 965 Socket 775 Motherboard Core 2 Duo/ Core 2 Extreme PCI-E x16 ATX

the question i have is that i checked all the latested motherboards and they all support Supported RAM Speed
    PC2-4300, PC2-6400, PC2-5300

and i checked that i can buy up to pc2-8500 ram speed so i was wondering if i buy faster ram will it be compatible with the motherboard i want to overclock so i know ram needs to be important. And if i just get pc2-6400 will it be safe when overclocking.

thank you all comments are welcome

The higher the speed ram will help make the system more stable. And will help get a higher speed overclock. But there are to many different factors to say just speed alone will help. Goto a memory manufactors site like crutcial and there should be a motherboard compatability look up table.
