1000's cancel their preorder and turn so grey imports...

Just repoprted on Radio 1 news that people are turning away from preorders of the PAL model and buying grey imports.

*I can understand the logic

Radio 1 claims it's because of backwards compatibility issues between the PAL and other region consoles.

*Utter rubbish, pricing is turning people to imports, it you import a console you will then have to buy the PS2 game that you are desperate to play from that region as well - making your PAL collection useless

I heard the same thing on 1xtra.

Funny like you say the reported said it was for PS2 games yet when they quoted the "man on the street" he said it was because he could import cheap blue ray movies from USA and JAP.

I am guessing the import machines cant play PAL PS2 games anyway?

I doubt all of the blu-ray and region issues will be a problem once the thing is hacked anyway. If price is such a big deal, then wait and buy one when they are more realistically priced or when they are hacked.

Amen. Everytime I buy a sony product, I get more and more disappointed. I only buy their MP3's for the battery and sound.

i bet a lot of the cancelled orders are from people who have pre-ordred multiple consoles in the hope of selling them on for a profit, and are now realizing that it might not sell that well. Sony missed the xmas sales and have probably shot themselves in the foot.

Because of the P&P you are only saving like £35. so if you cant be arsed to wait for 10 more days and dont want to play online with the some of the games you might of got in USA/CAN/E.T.C.

and want to pay for a new PS3 or repairs if something goes wrong then importing a PS3 is for you..
