My laptop has decided to be as reliable as ever & keeps crashing on me.
In summary, it ran out of power one night and powered off. Upon some fresh juice and a boot it'd lost my Documents and Settings folder, so on boot, it created a dup account and it was like a new windows install. I ran chkdisk and did a fragment to see if it had bad sectors, it seemed ok and no error from either came out.
Now it keeps BSOD'ing with Internal HDD soft errors. this is spontainious and unrelated to tasks, i.e. i wass just listning to a cd and on df and it crapped out. it failed to recognise the hdd on several boots and after taking it out and reinstalling the hd it now is alive again.
Dell lappy, no warranty left and little desire to buy a new hd.
any tools / suggestions to get things checked out, on what might be, a limited, randomly lost, las time on my laptop?
