    Default Egg fried bread

I think this actually has a posh name, but really quick and easy to make and taste fucking lush..
mix 2 whole eggs into a bowl with half a cup of milk, cut some bread into squres to remove the crust, slice into soldiers and dip each side into the egg mix. Drop into a shallow pan with about 1/4-1/2 inch of lard/veg oil on a high heat and turn when golden brown. When they're looking all over tanned, take them out and drop them on to a kitchen towel for a min.
If you got the inclination you could also break down some bread for crumbs and line them with this after the egg dip. I do my sons with no seasoning, but when It's mine I like to season the egg mix.

Or just plain ol' eggy bread.

Nice with a sprinkling of sugar on top.

I had cheese and ham toasties in bulgaria made with this stuff and it tasted absolutley amazing! not sure which way round they did it if the made the eggy bread then put the cheese and ham in it and then put it in the toastie machine, but it was definatley stuck in a breville style toastie maker!

Not tried it since i came back though!
    Want to though....it was gorgeous!

Try sticking some worcester sauce and chilli powder in the egg mixture before you dip the bread, gives it a real kick!

Have made this for a long time, however I usually add a small bit of milk into the egg mix, I dont cut mine up into squares I keep the bread whole and usually serve
it with some black pudding , sausages , beans etc.

Good bread counts also, ive noticed some of the cheaper bread tends to swell
too much sometimes once slice going nearly the whole size of the frying pan lol

Ive always called it eggy bread.

always been french toast for me, should make some for my friend, it would blow his mind!

one day he came around tellin me he had french toast and it was awesome, i said yeah i know, then next day i went to his house, and he said he'll make some, all he did was butter up some bread and stick it in the pan for a few secs. lol

oh yeah, you guys have toad in a hole (i mean the egg one)? or honey scrambled eggs ? they both good too.
