    Tech Air Traffic

I am totally new to this, and was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction or recommend a radio receiver so i can hear aircraft talking to each other and traffic control.

Also is this legal or illegal?

    Thanks

I'm sure it's technically illegal, but even airports sell airband radios lol nobody really cares. Go along to any airport and around the perimeter you'll nearly always see people sitting in their cars watching the planes and listening to the air traffic control.

How much would you be looking to spend?

You can pick up manual tuning radios that cover airband for £10-20, but i'd really recommend a digital one so you can enter the exact frequencies directly and scan to look for them etc. You can get dedicated airband radios that purely cover the airband frequencies, or you could pick up a scanner that covers airband plus some other stuff. On ebay there's usually some good bargains to be had on scanners.

Depends what you want to spend?

    For EMA frequencies try:

    Approach: 134.175 NFM
    ATIS: 128.225 NFM
    Ground: 121.9 NFM
    Tower: 124.0 NFM

Would be ideal m8. I'd also checkout scanners on ebay aswell though, for £60 you could pickup a radio that covers airband and alot more aswell.

Regarding frequencies, they're all widely available online.
