my wife was bidding on a phone for my daughters birthday and the auction had ended we never watched it ending but the item has dissapeareed all together cant find it at all can anyone tell me what could have caused this

ebay have removed it for whatever reason - they should have notified you about this.

thanks for your fast reply they never contacted me just checked my messages folder so if they remove it will the whole add just dissapear

yeah, it didnt used to but now they get everything off so even if u have the item number and go to its page - its gone. i am 99.9% sure thats what happened because i have had items taken off myself before and thats what happens, people who were bidding on them get an email but the item disappears completely from their "my ebay"

Our kid was selling a phone on ebay yesterday, a nokia, he messaged the winning bidder as a courtesy after the sale ended and got a confused reply back from the account holder that he had not bid on it.
It turned out someone had hacked the buyers account and ebay removed the auction without trace m8.

This has caught me out a few times... I think at least they should put a "auction removed" message.
