Sega's NiGHTS *IS* coming to Wii *OUT NOW*

Well, at least it means we can all stop rumourmongering. Sega has finally confirmed that its classic Saturn game NiGHTS is spawning a new game for Wii, which is to be called NiGHTS: Journey Of Dreams.
The game won’t just be a rehash of the original though. It’ll have a new storyline according to producer Takashi Iizukia, and is due out by Christmas (well, ‘Winter’, which gives it scope to slip as far as March I guess, climate-change allowing).
The questions now are whether the new Wii version can live up to the lofty expectations among fans of the original, and whether it’ll appeal beyond that niche to current Wii owners who never owned a Saturn.

Very very true, this is the only thing i'm worried about...... sega don't have a good track record with bringing classics to the "next generation"

I'm sure if it's as good as the original, new players will be just as into it as people that have played it before. The use of the controllers may make or break it, if done properly it'll be awesome, if done lazily it'll kill a classic.

yeah thats my feelings too inspecta, even if the game is as good as the original it could just be the game doesnt still have the appeal, sometimes a game was great back then for various reasons, it was a new idea, it used a new controller and it was on a machine that at the time wasnt getting many great games so it was probably appreciated more.

i have great memories of the title, so im looking forward to it anyway, the potential is huge for the wii, especially if they incorperate wii24

Thanks for the pics, {{909}}, REALLY hope this doesn't end up being another SEGA dog. Still hoping they do a release of the original along with Christmas NiGHTS too, but I think I've got more chance of seeing Shenmue 3 than that, lol

Nights.Journey.of.Dreams.JPN.WII-DMZ is available now, works on PAL and has full English options. Works after brickblocking too, so doing that is advisable but may not be essential.

Classic controller works much better than the wiimote, as does the gamecube controller.

Me too. My Wii is not even getting used apart from Super Mario Galaxy. Im gonna trade it in for a PS3.

Lol laugh it up, but in all honesty I actually get more entertainment out of the PS3 demos than I do with the full Nintendo Wii games.
