    Default Enterprise Messaging

Maybe one of you guys will have come across what i need.
I'm looking for a free instant messaging system to experiment with at work.
Ideally what I want is something as close as possible to messenger(frequent disconnects and downtime are optional), but using logged on user as the name with no manual log in required.
A server/client model is no problem.
I've tried a few from sourceforge without much luck so far. Closest I found used the net send command but it was not really a synchronous procedure.

    Cheers

    Default Re: Enterprise Messaging

Depending on your agreement with Microsoft you may be eligible to use Live Communications Server for free - it's basically corporate MSN which you can use with the LCS client, it uses Kerberos and so is all integrated into Active Directory.

    Works a treat mate

Longer term you can federate with Microsoft's external MSN server to allow your corporate users to add contacts from MSN directly, while still retaining control over logging etc, it's a bit of a winner

Even works on PDAs with the mobile version of the client!
