WTD: Socket A AMD CPU

hi, my amd 2400+ has died on me so i need a replacement, im looking for anything higher than it really 3000+ maybe or 3200+ just let me know what you have, thanks

those cpu's still go for a premium ~ £70+ and you may have to change your memory from what you already have - might be worth going for a full upgrade as you could get a 3800 A64 for about £50 and a dual core A64 for about £60 and there are motherboards that will take both DDR and DDRII and PCIe and AGP graphics cards so you may get away with just changing the mobo and cpu which could work out about the same to £10 more than just getting a new socket A cpu.

yea that is true mate but i was just looking to see if anyone has any knocking around cheap because for some reason i have DDR400 ram in my pc so the ram side will be ok, dont fancy getting a whole new setup just yet
