    Default Lettering on van

I've just bought a van with some lettering on the sides. I've been told the best way to remove this is by a hairdryer. However there's still some gummy stuff left over. Whats the best way to remove this without damaging the paint work.

While I'm here I've just learned the best way to remove tar spots from your car is to use butter! No shit!

Well for removing stickers/glue on general surfaces furniture polish does it piece of piss. Spray it on thick and leave it 5 minutes. I don't think polish will damage the paint work so give it a go (small area).

Two citrus based products that are very good for this are:

    Goo-Gone

    or
    Sticky Stuff Remover

Nail varnish remover will get shut of it. I used it on my dads to remove an old GB sticker.

I also cleaned, polished and waxed the car after.

Argyll what you do in the end m8?

I'm picking up a ST500 tomorrow and it has those wanky GT40 style two stripes over the bonnet, roof and tailgate. As it's a large area I need the best option even if it is an expensive pot of shit from halfords.

Hang on what's a ST500? I hope it's not something fancy? Otherwise I would just use petrol and a soft cloth and forget about the non scouring pad
