Does anyone else not think that the way forward for camera phones is not to keep shoving in higher mega pixels, but to put a decent optical lens mechanism in them.
Newer camera are small and light, with a telescopic optical lens so why don't the phone manufacturers realise this is a better function to adopt than the 10mp camera they are trying to squeeze into the next nokia.
IMO a 5mp camera on a phone isn't going to be anymore useful than a 3.2mp. Sure the mix of camera and phone is a good idea, but how long is it before they become cameras that can make phone calls..?
Mobile technology moves so fast these days, it's hard for anyone to really get full use from a phone before they are in need of an upgrade. Often the build quality is crap, and more often than not, there are bugs and glitches in the software.
The arse has to fall out of the market sooner or later.
On another note... With all these fancy toys about at the moment, not just phones, but ipods, psp's, pvr's etc' as well, people are more of a target to theives and muggers etc.
Parents are giving kids mobiles so they are safer and can contact or be contacted in an emergency, but it's the bloody phone that's making them a target for trouble in the first place. Why, because it's a 20gb media playing, 5mp, internet capable, tri-band, gaming phone... FFS.
