I've got a mate who's a jeweler who will do you a quote and ahs always done good work at good prices. Trouble with Platinum is its denser than gold and pricier so for two ounces or so you're looking at 1300-1400+ and then work ontop.

The guy is in the midlands so if thats of any use to you let me know and I'll give him a call.

btw 60g aint alot of platinum - I've got a thumb ring which whilst its chunkyish is mid 50grams

    Hey

It is actually ILLEGAL to sell any platinum item above 0.5gram (1/2 gram) without an Assay Office Hallmark.

There are FOUR different qualities/purities allowed for Platinum. The standard/most common is 950, but there are also 850, 900 & 999.

I presume when you say that the item is 'stamped' you actually mean Hallmarked, as opposed to having the words 'Plat.' stamped on it ?

The cost of Assaying and Hallmarking a single piece of Platinum is £ 15.00

its all gone pear shaped, the guy that took the prder actualy came to my work adress to cancel it. he now wants 3400 for a 90 gram bangle and 2400 for a 60 gram bangle. Ive been back to the no stamp guy hes agreed to get it stamped as 950 aswell as supplying all paperwork that hes given wen he buys the plat fromwherever they get them from.
LE the advice is appreciated and if you have any more hints and tips it would be a bonus

    Hey

Don't take any paperwork as 'evidence' of a 'kosher' product.

The most important paperwork, are the documents issued by the assay office.

Make sure it is fully hallmarked.

I've seen countless people stung when buying Platinum. Especially with the 'cut & solder' hallmark scam.

Ask for the hallmark to be lasered, it won't cost any extra on a one off submission.
