so has anyone with a creditable history actually found out that the banning procedure is something to do with tcp/ip? 'cos personally I would imagine M$ would use some sort of console id/serial banning rather than an ip ban or whatever..

I was under the impression that it is the 360's mac address that gets logged then banned.
This being the case, altering or spoofing your IP will make no difference at all.

I may be mistaken but thinking back to the original xbox, didn't MS have a specific range of mac addresses for their consoles so you could not just attempt to clone the chip holding the mac with any random number.

I still havent got banned yet (touch wooden desk) that said I havent logged in today but will this evening when I get home to grab the DIRT demo, I am running MS28 FW 5.3(B) same speed as original FW, but linked to my box is a 120Gig HDD (hacked WD one) .. thats the only difference I see and still I am not banned even though I have played Halo 3 and still the odd backup .. although I also use a few originals online as well ..

Only time will tell , but like I said in a earlier post why dont we all chip in and buy this so called solution ??? Just to investigate ...

desperate people do desperate things, look at the number of auctions that say "do not bid, this is just a link" in huge red text etc and they have like 5 bids. I saw one for a wii the other day and it was currently on £110, even tho the seller clearly stated there was no actual wii for sale.

I think it's more curiosity than anything. But he's offering digital goods so PayPal won't cover you at all. Get him to send it on a CD or something and you'll be covered.

just took another look at the auction, when you go to the serllers profile page (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/pgone1984/) and click items for sale, it comes back with 0 results, yet the auction stated still has 1 day+ remaining, is this normal?

..and the auction has to be at least 2 days old, considering this is digital info and delivery is almost instant, shouldn't he have some feedback by now on this item..? (he doesn't have any, which to me suggest no sales, ha ha)
