Fiji.... but cheaper????

We are looking at holidays, and I have always fancied those "Bounty" Island (as in the chocy advert) type locations but I gather these locations are in the Fiji Islands and cost £££££ just with the flights alone

I was wondering are there any other locations in the world that fit the bill that maybe are a little closer and more carbon offset friendly?

most places you would take a seaplane to your hotel/resort, you can sea fish/sharks and stuff out of the window, some of the huts are built on stilts in the water with steps that lead down into the sea. you will love it there.

The Maldives are passe. Try the Seychelles though they are getting a little trite now as well.

Not been to the Maldives myself but whether bert was being flippant or not I've heard from close friends that some of the Maldive islands are really going chavvy. Honestly.

I have always wanted to go to the Andaman Islands, they are meant to be beautiful. Probably expenseive.

Other island worth a look is Mauritius.

Not being flippant but every cunt I know who has got married recently or decided to go on a dear holiday has been going to the Maldives. I also have a mate who has been three or four times and he said the last time was his last as the place was getting spoiled by tourist tit heads. Our kid has just done the Seychelles and he said it was idyllic. Finding snails the size of his hand and came across allsorts of other wildlife as well.

Hawaii is mint. Few different islands to visit. I have been to Oahu and a couple of others I know have been to Maui and the Big Island which is apparently a little quieter than the others. American owned so there are a lot of the fuckers there but the scenery is incredible as is the ocean. Long flight to do in a single journey though.

Not where I went. It was the best beach/desert island break ever. The food, setting and accomodation was spot on.

Berts right, the Maldives are so 1990's, as are the Seychelles. Try Bora Bora or even Aruba (although that's in the Caribbean)

Aye Bora Bora has been on my list for a while but I refuse to visit the Caribbean so immediately dismiss anywhere round there if it gets suggested.

Like I said, "certain" islands have gone chavvy as Bert confirms but like you say there are obviously still some really decent islands. Like most things, I guess price reflects the quality.
