new laser in Hitachi drive question

I have just stuck a new replacement laser in a Hitachi 47 drive for a guy.

It worked fine with dvd's, cd's, and an original, but backups were a no go.

The pot was set at 5.12! so my first tweak put it down to 4.01 and it read several DL discs but it makes a tick sound every now and then whilst reading. I adjusted it down to 3.60 and the same tick was still there. So I put it back to 4.XX...

I'm soak testing it now, the guy who owns it travels all over the U.K and takes this 360 with him, is it safe to say things will run smooth with this tick noise... or maybe I'm just being over cautious ..lol.. I don't want a call from Inverness saying his 360 wont read discs ...heheh... better to be safe than sorry :)

using verb dual layers with a pink top at the moment... I followed the xbox scene guide.

but to be honest think you should try verbatim printable or unprintable look like this for refrence

The verb pink tops are normally sold in america. A company i cannot name, imports them and provides them on a spindle. I have used loads of them.

I got a 50 splindle off some random website (her in the U.K) back when the original verb shortage was happening, never had a problem with them :)
