Default Can't be that hard controlling a JCB?

A mate has offered me a few hours work each week on a JCB.. basically shifting shit off the back of trucks in a part of his yard that is restricted and clearly sign posted 'private land' and has said if I only do it a few hours a week I don't need a cpc/jcb licence as it's not a full time position.

As it's private land, is this ok? I don't care for the H+S aspect, I'm not stupid and done worse in my time. I've got a lot of prior experience with Komatsu's/Volvo BM's and JCB's etc. so that isn't an issue but never took the relevant licencing.

His insurance might not cover you without an operators licence. Might not be a concern for injuring yourself however if you injure someone else and they want to make a claim you could be in trouble...!
