    Default Vaio Problem

I have a Sony Vaio laptop that I have been trying to connect to an external monitor.... I have it set up to output to the LCD screen and the External monitor.... Although, even when I output it to just the external monitor it makes no difference.....

I cannot get a picture on the external monitor... Except at start up.... When the desktop load it's ok... But after 10 seconds it cuts out.... I am thinking I may have a program that disables it...... But can't think what it would be.... Any ideas?

sounds like it's not able to set a video resolution correctly. try turning down the refresh rate to 60hz. make sure you've set it to be a desktop extension screen or a replacement screen which disables the viao's lcd display. viao's tend to have strange resolutions that your monitor will not be able to duplicate.
