    PS3 sixaxis controller design leaked

    http://crunchgear.com/2007/07/13/new...design-leaked/

If you mosey on over to the Official Star Wars: Force Unleashed website, you’ll see a tidbit about info and a picture of the gamebox for the PS3 and Xbox 360. You can make out two things from this image:

    1. It will be Xbox Live compatible
    2. Is that a re-designed SIXAXIS controller? The one with rumble features?

It could be. The biggest giveaway is the swap the d-pad had with the left-analog stick. This sort of makes the PS3’s SIXAXIS sort of resemble a 360 controller. Could this be the new SIXAXIS? Surely LucasArts wouldn’t let any kind of photoshoppery on the game’s official website. What do you guys think? New controller or weird slip-up?

Bad photoshop rip off. No PS button and they ain't going to move the D-pad any time soon.
I feel the need, the need for speed. ;-)

i find it hard to believe a photoshopped pic made it onto both lucas arts official promotional material and an official yahoo starwars site..

wouldnt somone have removed it by now if it were fake? specially as its now been fairly widely circulated..

maybe they had to redesign to fit new vibration gubbins in.. including removing the ps button..

no way would they remove the PS button! How on earth would you quit a game otherwise?! cos if you just eject a game disc, it asks you to re-insert it, and doesn't go back to the main menu! Only way to go back to the main menu is by pressing the PS button and selecting "Quit Game", HAS to be a fake on that basis alone!

And they've just recently (in update 1.80, I think) made it so you can super impose the XMB while watching a film by pressing the PS button, if they were going to remove it they surely wouldn't do that, and they would bring an update which got the console to return to the main menu when the disc was ejected.

Thats exactly what I was going to say. If all the main functions are within the PS button, what's the point of removing it??

I never said never! I said that they would have to do it via some sort of FW update! And that it would be pointless to add new features using the PS button (as they have currently done) if they are just going to get rid of it!

And if they do get rid of the PS button, then where on that new controller would you bring up the PS button menu?!

And do you not think they would have announced a new controller design at E3, when they also announced that rumble would be returning this year?!

buhaha.. man your easy to wind up.

look its a news story, maybe they are updating the controller, maybe they arent... tbh i couldnt give a fuck as the ps3 is doomed anyway.. i was just passing on a story that circulated on news sites.

    blame george lucas.

Jesus, fella. What is your problem with Sony? Did some bigger boys make fun of you while you were button mashing Tekken on a demo pod in GAME?

Don't you just love open minded people with a penchant for constructive criticism and reasoned arguement...

I dont see the need for the recessed cross shaped area behind the Left thumbstick so I would guess its a photoshop but cant confirm that just what I reckon
