help download speed

is there a way to speed up my download speed when downloading demos for the ps3. i started to download G.T HD to my ps3 hard drive. in 3 hours it had only downloaded 96mb so is there a way to speed it up

1. set your router to "hold" the the IP address for your console (using its MAC address)

2. put the IP address in DMZ

3. forward ALL TCP, and UDP ports (1 - 65534), but ONLY for your PS3's IP address!

4. make sure UPnP is ON

5. manually assign an IP address, and setup the gateway, etc under network settings (create a new connection, and do it)

I had major problems with my NETGEAR router always cutting me off, and never being able to sign in, also tried d/l the Resistance update before I changed those settings, and it said it would take approx 3 HOURS!! After doing all the above and trying to d/l the update, it only took 10 mins!

And now I also have NAT type 2 (used to be NAT type 3), and dont get disconnected every 5 mins or so!

Hope that helps! BTW do you have a NETGEAR router, cos I've heard NETGEAR routers and PS3's dont mix well for some strage reason! But I had my router before my PS3, and I'm not changing it just for the PS3...and it works fine now after all the above!
